INQUILAB

INTRODUCING "INQUILAB"

SQ—8-8-8-8-10—YQ

INQUILAB (The Rebellion) is a poetry form dealing with the essence of rebellion. It may be rebellion against the regime, rebellion against society, rebellion against your day to day life angst. A SQ which stands for "StandardQuote" [which can be a lines from a poem, or a shayari, or a quote, or lines extracted from a novel, essay, story, journal, lyrics of a song, headlines of a newspaper, anything, and in whatever language along with the proper credentials. In case of newspaper clippings, mention the name of the Newspaper alongwith the date] followed by four lines of 8 words each, describing the form of rebellion you feel in current times, and a 10 word motivation which should sound as an appeal to the entire humanity or to those going through the same angst as you, making it a 5-line stanza with either no space or with equal space in-between, ending with a YQ (YourQuote) which will be a quote written by you, yes YOU, in the form of a single line or a sentence with as much brevity as possible within double inverted commas, something you want to be understood by all and thereby, propagated alongwith your own credentials. Poets are, after all, visionaries. The SQ and YQ should be relevant to the incident and the flame of rebellion you want to spark. It's a flexible form so you can either add a rhyming sequence or keep it free verse. Hypehenated and Closed Compound words will count as one word but Open Compound words will be considered as separate words. Also, in case of SQs written in languages other than English/Hindi/Urdu, kindly provide translations if possible inside brackets just below the quote. So, just lock and load!

Note: The SQ can be a one-liner, a couplet or a stanza or a para, or an excerpt, or a run-on sentence, or even a single word, just anything. The rule of line-limit doesn't apply to it. SQ permits breakage of lines. To describe it plainly, you have the liberty to highlight anything with the SQ. This is because a Standard Quote is a Standard Quote. You cannot mould or modify it unlike something that has been written by you and you alone. The YQ, on the other hand, has to be either a one-liner or a single sentence or a run-on sentence i.e a fused sentence without fullstops in-between or breakages of any sort, keeping the brevity quotient intact. While the SQ can be in any language, the YQ has to be written in English. The main body (8-8-8-8-10) which is primarily in English, can be written in Hinglish or any other fusion, in case of using strong references or quoting lines...

An example to go with this:
